Volunteers

The volunteers at Our Lady’s House are everyday people who cherish this mission and feel privileged to be able to volunteer time to the organisation. We have spoken to some of them so that they are properly represented in our web site.

Anthony McGrath

I am a mechanic by trade and my wife Irene is a secretary, we have been going to Our Lady’s House in Achill since it first opened. We enjoy participating in the prayers there, As Our Lady’s House has grown, we offered to help in any way we could, now, we work in the little shop on a Saturday. The management and staff of Our Lady’s House are welcoming and pleasant, they appreciate the volunteers and we have always found it a happy and loving environment to work in.

Noreen Quirke

I am a registered psychiatric nurse; I travel to Our Lady’s House most weeks with my teenage daughters. I assist in the area of First Aid. I am delighted to be part of this team and have always found it a wonderful environment, my assistance is always appreciated and I certainly have never, nor has anybody else I know who works in Our Lady’s house been treated badly as implied in a tabloid paper. I have always found Christina Gallagher to be a lady and I hope to continue to help for many years to come.

Richard Hogan

I am journalist and editor of many years experience. My wife and I presently coordinate the Fraternity Choir in Our Lady’s House of Prayer in Achill. I served on the board of directors of Our Lady’s House for many years. I know how special Our Lady’s House is, I have known Mrs Christina Gallagher and Rev. Fr McGinnity for many years and they are people of the highest calibre and I have witnessed many conversions and healings over the years, the fruit of this work speaks for itself.

Kay O Sullivan

I am a housewife and mother; I have attended the prayer House in Achill for many years. I have found over the years I have received so much from Our Lady through Christina Gallagher. I volunteer and work in the information office. I enjoy meeting the pilgrims and working there. The staff of Our Lady’s House is always willing to help in any way. Mrs Gallagher is always so appreciative of all who give their time to help in any way.

Eileen Blake

I have been a pilgrim to Our Lady’s House for many years, in more recent times as my circumstances permitted; I became a resident staff member in Our Lady’s House of Prayer. My life is full of joy as I meet and serve the pilgrims in the chapel or café. The management of the House are very good and I have always found them to obliging helpful and supportive of all staff and volunteers alike.
